WHO WE ARE: 

• RTW is a partnership of Christian churches and ministries committed to outreach and service.

• RTW began as Sports Outreach Los Angeles’ outreach to the LA Marathon in 1995.

• RTW coordinates outreach efforts at 5K, 10K, 1/2 Marathons, Marathons, and Bike Rides in Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Orange, and San Diego Counties.

WHAT WE DO: 

• RTW brings a Christian presence to these sporting events.

• RTW offers prayer and the good news of the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

• RTW encourages churches to get involved in their communities.

• RTW provides an opportunity for Christians to serve in their communities.

• RTW distributes Bibles, New Testaments, Bible tracts, Christian magazines, bulletins from local churches listing upcoming activities, and RTW information.

• RTW provides Christian volunteers to assist race organizers.

• RTW provides music and other entertainment at these events.

• RTW actively works to build the Kingdom of God.

HOW WE DO IT:

• We pray, seeking God’s guidance and presence.

• Races are selected by location and date.

• Organizers are approached by phone, e-mail, and/or in person.

• We point to heightened awareness of God and God’s blessings on our country.

• Community involvement is offered to race organizers.

• Volunteer laborers are made available to assist race staff.

• Music and other free entertainment are offered.

• We are forming a group of Hospitality Runners to minister to suffering runners.

GOAL:

• To form a Chaplain Service at race events throughout Southern California

• To actively advance the Kingdom of God

• To help Christian workers develop and use their gifts

PURPOSE:

• To bring the good news of the gift of salvation of Jesus Christ to the running community

• To encourage new believers to become active, in the community, with a local church

RTWCS is a group of volunteer.  We are not a church; we are a partnership of Christians from many churches throughout Southern California.  RTWCS brings prayer, Bibles, announcements of upcoming church activities and events, music and other entertainment, and laborers to assist race staff of running and bike events, all at no charge.  Our volunteers desire to serve in their communities.
