RTW Volunteer Service
Church Partners Serving in the Communities
WHO WE ARE:
RTW is a partnership of Christian churches and ministries committed to outreach and service.
RTW began as Sports Outreach LA’s outreach to the LA Marathon in 1995.
RTW coordinates outreach efforts at 5K, 10K, 1/2 Marathons, Marathons, and Bike Rides in Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Orange Counties.
WHAT WE DO:
RTW encourages churches to get involved in their communities.
RTW provides an opportunity for Christians to serve in their communities.
RTW distributes Bibles, New Testaments, Bible tracts, Christian magazines, bulletins from local churches listing upcoming activities, and RTW information.
RTW provides Christian volunteers to assist race organizers.
RTW provides music and other entertainment at these events.
HOW WE DO IT:
Races are selected by location and date.
Organizers are approached by phone, e-mail, and/or in person.
We point to heightened awareness of God and God’s blessings on our country.
Community involvement is offered to race organizers.
Volunteer laborers are made available to assist race staff.
Music and other free entertainment are offered.
We are forming a group of Hospitality Runners to minister to suffering runners.
GOAL:
To form this Service at race events throughout Southern California
PURPOSE:
To encourage new believers to become active with a local church, and get involved in the community
